Having more parrots than any other collection in the United Kingdom and the largest animal park in Lincolnshire, The Parrot Zoo offers a wonderful experience that each and every pupil no matter what age, from Key Stage 1 School pupil to Key stage 5 will find fulfilling.

But there’s more!

Yes, we also have Lemurs, Meerkats, Giant Tortoises, Cranes, Coatimundis and even little Monkeys along with Snakes and reptiles, Kookaburras are here too, and if  you look around, you may even see the Toucans.

So no matter what the childrens’ likes, there’s got to be something here to keep them entertained while they learn about animals and the environment.

Our intentions are for everyone to leave the centre feeling that, not only have they enjoyed their visit and had a fun filled day but more importantly, improved their knowledge base.

We have programs in place that cover all aspects of education from sensitive animal handling and insect identification for school children to psittacine first-aid and gavage feeding for young veterinary surgeons.

We also have programs in place for Colleges and Universities assisting the new generation of animal managers in enrichment and animal awareness.

New for 2013 we have our new Veterinary handling / first aid experience. A superb opportunity for veterinary surgeons young or old and even more importantly if you are awaiting qualification the chance to get to grips with the psittacine world, gain valuable experience in handling while consulting, how to extract a large bird from a carrier safely, everything from the basics to instant first aid we are there to help.
